Dr. Roger Lucas was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He attended Oliver M. Hazen High School in Renton and received the Washington Scholar full-tuition award to attend the University of Washington. At the University of Washington, he received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with college honors. This is also where he met his wife, Heather.

Dr. Lucas also attended dental school at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He received his pediatric dentistry specialty training at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. While in California, he worked full-time at Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County and Children's Hospital Orange County.
Dr. Lucas is the founder of TheDentistDad.com, and speaks at dental conventions across the country, teaching other dentists his practical, alternative, prevention advice. He is the author of More Chocolate, No Cavities, and over 500 dentists across the country are using the Tooth Snack Guide he created.
Dr. Lucas and his wife have been married for over 14 years and have three daughters together.
Dr. Goldberg likes to go by “Dr. Kate.” Drawn to pediatric dentistry by the opportunity to positively impact a child’s oral health and confidence, Dr. Kate has her Masters in Public Health (MPH) and Masters of Science in Dentistry (MSD) from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in affiliation with Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Prior to that, she attended Cornell University for her undergraduate degree in Biology and Society, the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, and the University of California in Los Angeles and San Francisco for General Practice Residency training.
Upon graduation, she received the Kramer Award of Excellence for “scholarship, character, and service to humanity” and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Predoctoral Award recognizing her as the graduating student with the most promise in the field.
Dr. Kate is a former NCAA Division I gymnast and diver. She loves chatting about these sports and how great the Pacific Northwest is.
